Un Jour

Un Jour is a film I wrote and directed. I was going through a rough time, watching so many friends becoming successful. But as I talked to them and listened to other people talk about success and fame, I heard a lot of the same sad, isolating story.

So Un Jour is about the lust for success. “If I could get to that level, then I’d be happy. One day...” Through the lens of a man obsessing over a woman Un Jour explores how seductive, but deceptively dark, success can be. In the same way a person or relationship can seem like the solution to happiness, contentment and feeling complete, so does success tell us this lie. But with these expectations, in the end, we are left just as alone as before but with a darker version of ourselves.
